Captive Backleads are used wherever disruptions can be expected in the shore area. They lower the line and thus prevent surfers, pedal boat riders, barges, water birds, or other nuisances from catching the line and taking it away.The fishing line is simply placed into the clip and the Backlead is dropped into the water in front of the rod tip on the safety line. The release mechanism works like the MK2 Swinger and immediately releases the line when a run occurs.
With the help of the wrapping board, the Captive Backlead can be secured, for example, on the Rod Pod or through a Bivvy Peg.
