Now with even better weather protection, high-quality fabric, a removable mosquito net front, and the same compact packing size, suitable for Scope 9- and 10-foot rod bags.Made from extra durable 10,000 mm Aquasense® 150 x 150 material with high-strength 8 mm fiberglass ribs for strength and flexibility under extreme conditions, this brolly is designed for years of intensive use. Weak points have been consistently eliminated, such as the central bell cap, which is reinforced with stainless steel wire to ensure the best possible durability.
A space-saving central mechanism maximizes headroom and space under the umbrella by firmly connecting the ribs to the cover. Despite its compact dimensions, the Scope OPS Brolly offers enough space for standard and Wide Indulgence Sleep Systems. Those who prefer even more room under the umbrella and a smaller packing size can opt for the Scope Four Fold Sleep System.
The extended sidewalls (Storm panels) offer similar protection to a Titan Hide or the Groundhog and Hog brollies from the early 2000s. Due to the additional coverage, a sleep system can be positioned at the rear end of the brolly, where it is almost completely protected from sideways rain. The Storm panels can also be rolled back and secured independently with elastic loops to allow maximum outward visibility in dry weather.
The extended inner floor strip is designed so that the feet of the sleep systems can be placed on it to fix the brolly on wooden jetties or concrete surfaces where pegging is impossible.
For summer sessions and nights near the shore, an optional mosquito net provides protection against annoying insects. It is simply attached around the central cap and has its own guy points, independent of the brolly. Double loops and toggle fasteners allow a tight, gap-free connection to the brolly, while the smooth zipper ensures a quick and easy exit in an emergency.
As a complement to the Scope OPS Rod Skin series, the brolly is delivered in a waterproof roll and clip bag that offers the same connection option as the Scope Rod Skin system. Attach the brolly using Velcro straps and buckles to the Rod skins or carry it independently with a separate shoulder strap (not included), which attaches to D-clips. The bag bottom is reinforced to prevent both water ingress and damage from the supplied Storm poles, which also fit inside the bag.
Note: Since the Scope OPS Recon Brolly carrying bag is waterproof, a wet or even damp brolly must be removed and dried as quickly as possible to avoid mold formation and damage to the waterproof fabric. The guy eyelet in the middle of the bell cap also serves to hang the brolly for drying after the session.
