The Shimano Expride rod series impresses with outstanding quality, robustness, and sensitivity. And for light, medium, or large lures, this range offers various models of spinning or casting rods. Moreover, each model from the range is available in two versions, either as a 1+1-piece rod (one piece with detachable handle) and as a classic 2-piece rod.

The Hi-Power X label stands for a process in the blank construction, where Carbon-Tape is wrapped around the outside of the blank wall. The spiral winding allows for the construction of extremely stiff and fast blanks and simultaneously counteracts the twisting of the blank. The Hi-Power X structure ensures better casting performance, when it comes to setting the hook in hard mouths or at great distances and taming strong fighters.

To further increase the sensitivity and overall performance of the rod, the Expride is equipped with a Fuji SiC guide setting and a lightweight Shimano Ci4+ reel seat for spinning or Baitcasting reels. And anyone who thinks it couldn't get any better hasn't yet enjoyed the breathtaking design that results from the classic glossy black blank combined with the front cork grip and the Carbon Monocoque handle.

The Carbon Monocoque directly emerges from the blank. Consequently, it is made of carbon and encases a cavity, so that no additional materials need to be wrapped around the blank. This not only saves weight but also allows the vibrations of the lure and the bites to be transferred to the very end of the rod. You can distinctly feel every movement of the lure and can respond to even the most tentative bite with a strike. The Carbon Monocoque construction thus offers full control over the events at the lure and opens up the possibility for Shimano to offer anglers even more sensitive rods for a wide range of different fishing disciplines.

In action, the Expride impresses all along the line. The 1+1-piece models have a blank with a one-piece main section, which bends with a seamless fast action and is unsurpassed in its directness. The 2-piece models, on the other hand, are significantly more pleasant to transport and are hardly distinguishable in their action from the 1+1-piece models.
