During production, we managed to make the Thunnus worlds lighter - through the use of Ci4 - while at the same time increasing its quality and performance even further.
What is CI4 actually?
The revolutionary material mix of carbon fiber and polyamide has already proven itself in cycling and has now also been used to produce extremely light roller parts. This material CI4 is now used to manufacture the housing and rotor, because this is where the advantages of the material mix come into their own: excellent strength and stability with a significantly lower weight, no risk of corrosion, higher load capacity of the roller and a breathtaking design and appearance - CI4 the new material in reel technology is only found in the best reels!
In order to construct such an exceptional role, everything was thought of. The new Thunnus is equipped with countless top features that put this reel in the top league of freshwater and saltwater spinning reels.
The weight and the now legendary Ci4 material to which the new Thunnus owes its flyweight and power were already mentioned at the beginning.
This technical Ildefonso with Baitrunner freewheel system also has Paladin Gear Durability Enhancement, Propulsion Line Management System, Propulsion Spool Lip, S-Arm Cam, SR One-Piece bracket, Varispeed Oscillation, S-Concept, S-Rotor, S-Arm Cam , Direct Drive Mechanism (Thread-In Handle Attachment), an incredibly strong Septon crank knob for top power and even more comfort when drilling, Waterproof Drag, Machined Aluminum Handle, a finely adjustable Dartainium II brake (Cross Carbon), Repairable Clicker, Super Stopper II – “Anti-Rewind”, Dyna-Balance, Floating Shaft, Fluidrive II Gearing, and last but not least THE S A-RB (Shielded A-RB) ball bearings.
As is well known, one of the most important properties of a reel is the smooth rotation of the rotor. The secret to smooth rotation is the protection against rust, corrosion and oxidation of the ball bearings. All causes that can lead to a reduction in smooth running.
