Trakker Captive Backweights are designed to lower the line near the tip of the rod and keep it out of the way. The reliable gate-latch closing system ensures a smooth, secure release, and the smooth wrap-around board shape ensures that the line unwinds as the backweight slides along the mainline.A 1 m long piece of extra heavy Leadfree Leader is spliced onto the end of the backweight to keep the line on the bottom of the water; this significantly reduces tangling, which occurs regularly with conventional systems. Following the sinking, Leadfree Leader section is a 9 meter long, UV-reactive red Hi-Viz line that glows under UV light, making it easy to find even in poor light conditions. You can attach the winding board to snag ears, position it under the bite indicators, or anchor it in the ground. To pack up, simply wind the line back onto the winding board, and the backweight can be easily hooked into the slot with the gate-latch closure, so you can store it without any problems.
