The outstanding sensitivity and feedback of the Expride blanks is the result of two exclusive Shimano technologies. The High Modulus Full Carbon Blanks are equipped with the Hi-Power X construction. This reduces blank twist when throwing and fighting and makes the blank extremely responsive. Added to this is the carbon monocoque handle, which transfers more information from the blank to the hand and allows unprecedented insight into any contact the bait has with its environment underwater.
To further increase the sensitivity and overall performance of the rod, the Expride is equipped with Fuji SiC guides and a lightweight Shimano Ci4+ reel seat for spinning or baitcasting reels. And if you think it couldn't get any better, you haven't yet enjoyed the breathtaking design that results from the classic shiny black blank together with the front cork handle and the carbon monocoque handle. One of the best rod designs we've ever seen.
In action, the Expride is convincing across the board. The 1+1 piece models have a blank with a one piece main section that bends with a seamless fast action and is unmatched in its directness. The 2-part models, on the other hand, are much more comfortable to transport and their action can hardly be distinguished from the 1+1-part models.
